What is Newtopedia

Newtopedia is a media site of the consumers, by the consumers, and for the consumers. Our goal is simple: helping average consumers like you to make a well-informed consumption by giving you authentic, first-hand reviews, opinions, and information.

There is no escape from consumerism in today’s day and age. However, the problem lies not in consumption but in better consumption and purchase.

Where to go for the best steak? Which latest movie or TV series is the must-watch? Which automatic vacuum cleaner model is the best fit for my needs? What is the best brand of pickleball paddle?

All these questions are just some examples you might concern yourself with daily.

Our mission at Newtopedia is to give you articles that are bite-sized enough so that you can find the answers you want — quick and simple. We strive to become your first spot to find the information for all the consumption choices you make.

What Started Newtopedia

If you ever invite your friend group out over the weekend, surely there would be at least 3 questions:
What to do? Where to go? What to eat?

At least that’s how it was with us. Without fail, we would all find it so difficult to answer any of these three questions. The truth is, there are so many fun, new activities to do almost every week, and there simply is an endless of food options to choose from. However, it entails extensive research, which none of us have much time for.

It would be better if the information we are looking for is compiled into one place, almost like an aggregator or a collection of the information that we need.

Besides, the number 1 topic among our friends would be about our personal experiences – good, bad, surprising, or just meh — about dining at certain restaurants. What started out as a chill, fun get-together quickly became an almost weekly restaurant review session among friends.

We realized that while Google Review could show you how many stars a restaurant has, it would never tell you which dishes to avoid and which to order. Sometimes, the comments are not even as accurate as they used to be (as now many restaurants would just give you a discount if you give them good reviews). We couldn’t recall how many times we checked out a restaurant due to its 5-star ratings only to end up with a disappointing experience.

This applies not only to restaurants but various consumptions we make, such as household appliances, sportswear, entertainment activities, etc.

We believe we were not the only one plagued by such frustration. Therefore, we took it upon ourselves with Newtopedia to share as authentic and genuine as possible the first-hand experience and reviews, presenting them entirely from a consumer’s point of view.

The Team Behind Newtopedia

We started as a small team of only 4 people working on this project as a side hustle while having a full-time job at a digital marketing agency. Throughout our time spent at a digital marketing agency, we quickly learned the know-how of online marketing, social media, and copywriting.

At that time, we were also aware that there was almost a barrier preventing daily consumers from getting the most accurate, customer-centric compilations of reviews of consumable goods and services. After much contemplation, we decided to quit our full-time jobs and invest fully in Newtopedia.

As of now, we have a team of different writers with different interests that match the areas of topics we wish to tap into: food, services, fun activities, sports, and more. The reason is simple: only when your interest matches with what you are writing about can you produce a quality, authentic, and in-depth review.

We look forward in bringing more writers to be part of our team as we expand Newtopedia to provide accurate, reliable reviews and articles that are of the consumers, by the consumers, and for the consumers.
